Wetlands Public Hearing
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 28.2-1302 of the Code of Virginia and the Northumberland County Emergency Ordinance addressing Continuity of Government during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic, that the Northumberland County Wetlands Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, commencing at 7:00 P.M., in the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (195 Judicial Place) in Heathsville to consider the following applications for wetland and/or coastal primary sand dune and beach permits:
1. Request by William Dean (V.M.R.C. #22-0871) to refurbish 426 linear feet of armor stone sill, to refurbish 837 linear feet of armor stone revetment and refurbish 55 linear feet of armor stone spur along and from the Coan River and 1244 Honest Point Road.
2. Request by Robert LaChance (V.M.R.C. #22-0649) to install 60 linear feet of armor stone over an existing concrete groin, install two (2) 60-foot replacement timber groins and repair existing riprap revetment as needed along and from the shoreline of the Chesapeake Bay and 115 Leming Avenue.
3. Request by Wanda Wachter (V.M.R.C. #22-0653) to replace existing failing timber groins with two (2) armor stone groins each 48’ from MHW and install 65 linear feet of armor stone revetment channelward of a failing vinyl bulkhead along and from the shoreline of the Potomac River and 493 and 503 Judith Sound Road.
