Wetlands Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 28.2-1302 and Chapter 14 28.2-1400 of the Code of Virginia, that the Northumberland County Wetlands Board will hold a public hearing in the Sheriff’s Office at 195 Judicial Place in Heathsville, Virginia, on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, commencing at 7:00 P.M., to consider the following application for wetland and/or coastal primary sand dune and beach permits:

1. Request by Clarence Bowen et al (V.M.R.C. #22-1785) to install 60’, 80’ and 120’ armor stone breakwaters with beach nourishment and wetland plantings along the shoreline of the Chesapeake Bay and 135 and 136 Smith Point View.

2. Request by Douglas N. Goodman et al (V.M.R.C. #22-1975) to install 146 linear feet of riprap revetment along the shoreline of Dividing Creek and Tax Map Parcel #’s 47-(3)-3 & 4 on Sculling Oar Lane.

3. Request by Robert Kane (V.M.R.C. #22-1442) to install 58 linear feet of riprap sill and install 65 linear feet of riprap revetment along the shoreline of the Glebe and 592 Highland Point Road.

4. Request by Henry M. Loughran (V.M.R.C. #22-1852) to install 155 linear feet of riprap sill, replace a failing bulkhead with 93 linear feet of riprap revetment and replace an existing timber bulkhead with 81 linear feet of vinyl bulkhead along the shoreline of Harveys Creek and 430 Harveys Neck Road.
