Wetlands Public Hearing - March 14, 2023
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 28.2-1302 and Chapter 14 28.2-1400 of the Code of Virginia, that the Northumberland County Wetlands Board will hold a public hearing in the Sheriff’s Office at 195 Judicial Place in Heathsville, Virginia, on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, commencing at 7:00 P.M., to consider the following application for wetland and/or coastal primary sand dune and beach permits:
1. Request by Cowart Properties, LLC (V.M.R.C. #23-0359) to install 482 linear feet of riprap revetment along the shoreline of the Coan River and 755 Lake Landing Drive.
2. Request by Joseph W. Coxe, IV (V.M.R.C. #23-0202) to install 70 linear feet of armor stone revetment, refurbish 132 linear feet of an existing revetment and remove four (4) deteriorated groins and replace with four (4) low-profile timber groins varying 30’ to 48’ from MHW along the shoreline of the Yeocomico River and 196 Barn Road.
3. Request by Charlotte M. Deer, Trustee (V.M.R.C. #22-1744) to install 105 linear feet of armor stone revetment channelward of an existing failing timber bulkhead and replace three (3) existing deteriorating groins with three (3) low-profile timber groins 48’ channelward of MHW along the shoreline of the Potomac River and 885 Virmar Beach Road.
4. Request by Depue, Jr. & Cheryl Duffy (V.M.R.C. #21-1298) to install 163 linear feet of riprap revetment channelward of a deteriorated bulkhead and install 68 linear feet of riprap sill along the shoreline of the Coan River and 408 Lake Landing Drive.
5. Request by William J., III, & Margaret L Klein (V.M.R.C. #23-0240) to install 200 linear feet of marsh sill along the shoreline of Presley Creek and 10 Potomac Drive.
6. Request by David C. & Vivian R. McGaw (V.M.R.C. #23-0356) to install 98 linear feet of riprap revetment along the shoreline of Lodge Creek and 786 Hidden Point Road.
7. Request by David Michalski (V.M.R.C. #23-0369) to install 243 linear feet of armor stone revetment channelward of existing timber bulkhead in the footprint of existing scattered riprap revetment along the shoreline of the Potomac River and 3218 Mob Neck Road.
